Omnicell Receives 2019 Red Dot Award for Product Design

Omnicell, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMCL) is pleased to announce that the Company’s easyblist® fill2light medication packaging has been recognized for outstanding product design by the 2019 Red Dot Award, one of the world’s largest design competitions with more than 5,500 products from 55 entered into the international competition. Omnicell® will be recognized for this achievement during the Red Dot Gala, to be held on 8 July 2019, as part of the Red Dot Gala in Essen, Germany.

Omnicell’s easyblist® fill2light is an intelligent packaging system that supports and documents the production of manual blister packaging. The system guides technicians through the filling process of blister cards, resulting in higher efficiency and reduced staff workload. Leveraging data pulled from pharmacy software, easyblist fill2light follows standardized protocols, documenting each step of the filling process to help ensure safety and efficiency of medication packaging.

Design quality is the common factor for the Red Dot award-winning products. “I would like to congratulate the winners sincerely on their wonderful success. The fact that their products were able to satisfy the strict criteria of the jury bears testimony to their award-winning design quality,” said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot. “The winners are setting key trends in the design industry and are showing where future directions may lead.”

Red Dot award winners will be part of the “Design on Stage” exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, and will also be featured in the 2019 Red Dot Design Yearbook and Red Dot Design App.

“Omnicell recognizes the pivotal role technology plays in improving efficiency and safety in medication management and adherence. This recognition from Red Dot underscores our commitment to developing solutions that support our vision of the Autonomous Pharmacy – with the goal of freeing pharmacists to spend more time working with patients for greater clinical impact,” said Peter Kuipers, executive vice president, chief financial officer, and head of International for Omnicell.
